McIntosh Holiday Update 2009

December 30th, 2008 | by Jim McIntosh |

Gummy ChristmasThis was our first Christmas and holiday season in Indianapolis. If this was 1997 I’d embed a recording of Jim Nabors singing Back Home In Indiana, but I spare you of that. Instead you can follow the link I put around the title of the song.

We’ve been so fortunate with the move and really enjoy living her now. This December we have;

  • Attended our first ExactTarget Holiday party (jim’s new job)
  • Figured out a new place to put the Christmas tree (all Kell)
  • Devised a new exterior lighting scheme (all me)
  • Hosted our first Christmas Eve Party for both McIntosh’s and Tschohl’s, and
  • Visited Santa at the mall!

All in all it was a very busy December for the McIntosh’s. We love our new home, being near family but we miss many of our friends in Utah. Happy Holidy’s and best wishes in 2009.

There should be some Christmas pictures in the photos section of my site soon.

McIntosh Thanksgiving 2008

November 30th, 2008 | by Jim McIntosh |

gobble gobbleToday is the end of our 2008 Thanksgiving vacation. Last Wednesday Kelly visited the girls at their school for a Thanksgiving feast and party.

On Thursday we visited Kelly’s parents in the afternoon for a nice relaxing no stress Thanksgiving dinner. Dinner was great and the girls and I played a few games of 9 Ball with Grandpa Tschohl. He beat us 4 out of 5 games.

Friday Kelly hit the Black Friday shopping scene in the morning and I taught the girls how to jump of a couch into a bunch of pillows – Father of the Year…

Buddy Walk 2008: our first in Indianapolis

October 11th, 2008 | by Jim McIntosh |

Mom, Mia, Dad and EllieWe look forward to this day each year and this was our first Buddy Walk in Indiana. Mostly we look forward to the family bonding time. In Salt Lake we were used to a small get together in a local park with around 300 people. And to be completely honest, getting the new tee shirt (or pajama top) each year was just about the high light. As a game we would often guess what color the T-shirts we were going be. We did enjoy seeing familiar friends and helping to support the community, but we really don’t set out to network at those events. The event is sort of private to our family.

Well, the Buddy Walk in Indianapolis is a much, much bigger deal. Check out the pictures and you can see. I don’t know exactly how many people there were but it had to be more than 1200. There were celebrities like Chris Burke, best known for his role as “Corky” on the TV series, “Life Goes On”, and the president of the national Down Syndrome Society in attendance. There were all kinds of activities, music and games. Additionally, this event raises much more money than we were used to, a good thing of course.

The weather was unseasonably warm with the temperature around 80 degrees.

Ellie McIntosh Turned Two Today!

January 22nd, 2008 | by Jim McIntosh |

Ellie with her little cakeI can’t believe it’s already been two years. People tell you time goes by fast and that your children will grow up faster than you think. So I don’t know why it’s catching me by surprise but it feels like yesterday that she was born.

Kelly and I decided not to have a large party and keep it just the us for Mc-family members this year. I was traveling in Chicago and booked an early flight to get home a little early to help Kelly with party prep, but O’Hare Airport didn’t take this into account. I was delayed three times leaving the airport and got home just before bed time. As I walked in the door Ellie ran up to me and said, “Da Da, cup cakes and presents!” Even though I was late we had a great time.

Be sure to look at the photos and video we made. Her Big present was a brand new Cozy Coupe. Now She and Mommy both have a “New Ca-i” (That’s Ellie’s pronunciation of Car). Ellie also got nice gifts from Grandma McIntosh and Grandma/Grandpa Tschohl. (thank you)

McIntosh Holiday Update

January 1st, 2008 | by Jim McIntosh |

McIntosh Holiday's 2007I’ve been so busy with work and rebuilding my blog that I haven’t taken time to do a good family update in a while.

We had a nice Christmas and holiday season. For the most part we just stayed home and took it easy. We did had a fun Holiday party earlier in December and Kelly’s parents came to visit us before Christmas for a few days. As of the last couple years the McIntosh’s have a new rule about not trying to travel during the holidays with the two little girls. Additionally, since I work in online retail, it’s my busiest time at work.

The girls did a great job in their schools holiday pageant. Mia had been practicing her routine at home over and over in the weeks leading up to the show and we didn’t see anything out of Ellie. However Mia got a little stage fright in front of the 300 plus parents and family members and didn’t quite pull off all the moves. She tried her best though. But, Ellie stole the show. She did such a good job that all the parents around us were commenting on how cute she was and how well she stayed upfront and focused on the dance routine.
